Welcome to the Homepage of the DJO Administrative Staff.
This page has been setup to give everyone a greater
understanding of the administrative side of the DJO. After reading, you should
be aware of who the admin staff are, what we do, our aims and how you can become
part of the staff.
The Role of the Admin Staff The staff's
ultimate role here is to serve the membership of the club. The DJO is the
adminstrative side of the club and is here to guide, support and serve the
Gaming Divisions. The DJO Staff handles the adminstrative side of things
allowing the Gaming Divisions to focus on their Gaming and members. The DJO in
addition handles the direction of the club and running of the organisation.
Hence the motto "Serving the Membership's Wishes" has come about.
DJO Staff Command The DJO Adminstration
has its own command staff as with the Gaming Divisions. The Command Staff is
comprised of the Chief of Staff (CoS) and the top personnel from the Staff; the
Division Directors. The Staff has its own rank/position structure reflected in
the DJO Ranks Page. The Staff's Chain of Command (CoC) follows the order:
Deputy --> Chief XO --> Chief --> Asst Director --> Director
--> Chief of Staff XO --> Chief of Staff
Joining the DJO Staff The DJO Staff
does not maintain "open enlistment" as the Gaming Divisions do (i.e. you can't
just hit an enlist button and signup). Staff are selected when staff positions
are available. If you have interest in the staff, you should contact a Director
of the Division or Chief of the department you are interested in working in.
There is a list of currently open positions for each department here. Note: Some areas require
specialized skills eg Engineering requires great knowledge of HTML, PHP and
mySQL plus selection. The Chief of Staff also has the final say for any assignment within the DJO Staff. In addition you should keep an eye out on the
following locations for Open Positions :
Benefits of Staff Work The Staff in
itself has no variable rank structure, so promotions are not available nor is it
why we are here. Staff should be both pleased and proud of themselves for
serving the club in a manner above and beyond just gaming and gaming leadership.
It is a chance to give back something you have been given in the DJO, and help
continue to help the club "Strive for Excellence in Online Gaming".
In addition, there are a number of ribbons/awards that can be gained through
superior service in the staff. A list of available awards and their explanations
can be found on the DJO Awards Page. Ribbons can be viewed in the bios dept. All
staff are awarded the DJO "Staff Service Ribbon" after 30 days work within the
staff. Work in the staff can lead to promotions in the Gaming Divisions for
staff work specifically related to a certain gaming area. In addition, staff
works provides transferable skills and experience in the DJO that can be used in
all gaming divisions and allow you to develop yourself and your skills. We are
currently working on a few privileges specifically for members of the
administration staff.. so watch this space.
